Mirror...Mirror!!

Happy weekend dear friends!!!

Time for relaxing with family and friends...and hopefully SUN and warmer temps!!

I have been trying to work ahead on my Easter projects while also getting to the birthday cards that are coming up and...Mother's Day!!

You must remember watching our Mothers primping in front of the mirror...I guess like we do now...LOL!!!  My Granddaughters are always coming into the bathroom while I am getting ready...asking "Can I try that?" or "What's that for?"

Well I found the cutest little House of Mouse stamp and thought how perfect it would be on a mirror styled card!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on first image for a closer full screen view and slideshow...
I made an easel style card in a mirror shape...

I cut out oval shapes for the mirror, frame, image and matts...
I used silver cardstock for the mirror...
I added Shabby Green Frantage to the outer frame of the mirror, mirror base, image matt and sentiment matt...
"Happy Mother's Day" sentiment is from Hero Arts...

the stamp is "Amanda Shines" from House of Mouse"...
 a closer view...
I added a small hand mirror that is just oh so very cute...
I decorated it with a ribbon and flowers...
the sentiment and bottom left corner with two sided paper torn to show the back side...
I also tore the sentiment matt and added the back side of the paper to show through...
 the card closed...

Well that is my Mother's Day card for my Mom!!  I hope that you like it!!  I will add a hidden tag with my personalized message for my Mom!

Tilda's Easter Basket!!

Hello dear friends!!

Well my plan was to start my Easter projects well before this...what can I say...time has a way of getting away from us all!!!

I have had this idea for an Easter basket in my head for a while...so finally started it yesterday and finished it up tonight!!

This will be one of the baskets for the Grandkiddies to collect their goodies when we have our Easter hunt!!

Here is the first one...
please click on first image for a closer view/slideshow...
I started by cutting out seven panels of Maja paper, a large circle, handle out of cardstock and then re-enforced the inside with cardstock...
I covered the seams with lace threaded with ribbon both on the inside and outside...
I distressed all of the edges with my Tim Holtz distressing tool...

I added some lace with flowers about a half inch from the top all around as well as on the handle...

"Tilda Hiding Easter Egg" from the Little Easter 2013 collection...
I cut out and added "Little Hoppy" (sorry not sure what collection) to the base...
the base circle is covered with a paper doilie...
flowers are added all around the base...
tiny pink ribbons are at the top of each lace "seam"...
closer view of Tilda and Little Hoppy...
Tilda's matt is from Spellbinders Vintage Labels Four...
on the right side I added a diamond safety pin, lace bow, large butterfly charm and hung a smaller butterfly charm on pink ribbon...
on the left side I added a blue crocheted doilie, feather die cuts and a Frantage covered button to a paper heart doilie
a closer view of Tilda and Hoppy...
closer view of the top of the basket...
a view of the inside of the basket and top of the handle accented with tiny pink roses glued to the lace with flowers...

That completes  the first of my Easter baskets...I hope that you like it!!

Tilda's Spring Cottage

Hello dear friends!!

While hubbie's away the girls will play!!!  My husband decided to go golfing in Florida for a couple of weeks...so...the girls get to play!!  Actually I still have work and such but my friends and I managed to get together for a day of play in my craft room!!!  They all decided to do a cottage that was on Dena Concienne's blog...Christine also has finished one and was going for number two!!  While I had no plan to do the cottage they were having so much FUN that I caved and joined them!!!  The template can be found at Creations by AR.

I decided to make mine my second addition to the Tilda Town that I am creating with the help (at some point) from my Granddaughters!!

Here is my Tilda's "Spring" Cottage...this is a picture heavy post!!...

please click on the first image for a closer view and slideshow...
so I made the cottage with a deck, fence and steps...
the template has no door so I made my own as well as the circle window above the door...
I added LOTS of flowers on the deck and around the base...

the roof of the cottage is made using strips punched with a Martha Stewart punch and inked with Ranger Stormy Sky Distress ink...
the cottage is made with Maja paper...the Sofiero collection...Hold my Hand...
the steps and deck planks were strips run through Tim Holtz wood grain embossing folder that I inked with the Stormy Sky before running it through...
the two plants at the front door are a Magnolia stamp "Afternoon Tea Plant" from the Little London 2013 collection...
the dog is "Cute Magnolia" from the same collection...
I decorated each side with a trellis, vines and tiny pick rose buds...cherry blossom at base...
the deck is mounted on chip board...
I put gauze inked with Memory Box Olive ink around the base for a grassy effect...
the fence is Magnolia "Lovely Fence" also inked and run through the wood grain embossing folder...
this is "Kneeling Tilda"...sorry can't remember which collection...
this is "Laying Tilda"...again can't remember the collection...
in each corner of the deck is a clay pot filled with flowers...

So that is my second addition to my Tilda Town! I had such a BLAST doing this one...and NO FRANTAGE or glitter...LOL!!!  I guess I made up for that with the flowers!!!!

Materials Used:
DP-Maja Sofiero Collection -Live and Love Crafts
Stamps-Magnolia (all listed above) -Magnolia-licious

Happy Birthday to Someone Special!!

Top o' the mornin' to ya!

Happy St.  Patrick's Day!!

With a greeting like that bet you thought I had a St.  Patty's Day card to share...sadly I don't!!  My Irish Grandfather would be mortified!!  My husband's Irish Mother was born on St.  Patty's Day and her name was Patricia...so with all that Irish blood floating around this house what's wrong with me...LOL!!!  No excuses would cut it so I won't even try!!!

I am actually here to share another birthday card...it's special to me because I thought that I had lost it and as it is actually my very first stamp ever I was saddened!  While going through my extremely cluttered craft room...I was trying to prepare for a "play day" with some of my crafty friends...I found it in amongst some supplies that I had used to make a scrapbook page for a friend of mine!!!  I also found a few other goodies that I had forgotten that I had!

So...my first stamp was House of Mouse "Shear Delight" featuring Monica and Friend!  I so LOVE this stamp and it is perfect for a birthday card for my hairdresser that I have had for more than 25 years!!

And here it is...
please click on the first image for a closer view and slideshow...
as I said before this is the super cute "Shear Delight" House of Mouse stamp...
circa 1999 (EEEKKKSSS)...

a closer look at Monica and friend...
I added a stick pin with some beads threaded onto it, chiffon ribbon, single rose and sentiment from LOTV in the upper left corner...
the inside with flower wreath stamp and Happy Birthday...both are Hero Arts...
and another sweet little stamp called "Baby Monica" HMD1021...

So that is my card using my very first stamp ever!!!  And no GREEN :(!!!

Materials Used:
Stamps-House of Mouse (listed above) LOTV sentiment and Hero Arts flower wreath
             and Happy Birthday
DP-My Mind's Eye Laundry Line-Sundress Sweetness

Here is my "suitcase"...
please click on the first image for a closer full screen view...
the identification tag for my suitcase was made using Heather's FABULOUS "Vacation Girl" digi that is part of this month's Fresh Brewed Designs March travel release...
a view of the top of the suitcase with a handle that I recycled from some packaging...
the latch is a Tim Holtz button and chiffon ribbon...
I used a 12 X 12 sheet of some GORGEOUS Maja Design paper...
another look at "Vacation Girl" and travel charms at bottom of the tag...
and yes a teeny bit of Frantage...
all mounted on a circle punched from a Marvy punch and Spellbinders Big Scalloped Circles...
 a little closer...
and the suitcase open to show the storage compartments that I made...

Good Friday morning dear friends!!!

Today at Fussy and Fancy we want you to celebrate birthdays with us!!!  Our challenge for the next two weeks will be all about "Birthdays" and we have a FABULOUS sponsor...Crafty Sentiments!!!!

I'm going with a cheery post today so NO WEATHER talk!!!

The beginning months of the year always signal MANY birthdays in our family...first it's MY baby Nicholas in January then his girlfriend Danielle & I in February, my husband...his is tomorrow, one of his sisters and my sister share a birthday later in March, then we finish off the month of March with my oldest son Derek and  my middle son Jordan on April 1st...yep their birthdays' are a day apart...well actually three years and one day...LOL!!!  We catch a breather until July...whew!!!

I decided to go with a feminine card as I'm in the mood for some girliness!!!  And I will give it to my sister!!

Here is what I came up with...
please click on the first image for a full screen closer view...
I am using one of our sponsor's darling images...
"Benson Bear Birthdays"...
I just LOVED this paper so was trying to design everything around not cutting into too much of the GORGEOUS pattern...LOL...

a closer view of the most darling "Benson Bear Birthday" digi by Crafty Sentiments...

I used my Prismas this time...I DO NEED practice...

I made the card in a five step style to accommodate "Happy"...
you can just see the "Birthday" sentiment on a side angle...
the large sentiment is our message to my sister for her birthday later in March...
all sentiments are computer generated...

So that is my contribution to our newest challenge at Fussy and Fancy...you must hop on over to visit my talented teamies!!!  You won't be disappointed...I saw some absolutely STUNNING projects!!!  We have a very diverse style here...so something for everyone's creative palette!

A Ray of Sunshine!!!

Good morning dear friends!!!

Well...I am in much NEED of some SUNSHINE...thought that I would create my own!!   So today I'm going with yellow and some SWEET little mice friends!!!

I created this "Secret Box"...the original tutorial can be found at Splitcoast Stamper's...just go to their site and search for the secret box tutorial!!

Here is what I came up with...

please click on the first image for a full screen closer view...

as I said before I was in the yellow mood...the cardstock is actually embossed with a floral pattern and has a bit of sheen throughout...
I stamped two sweet little mice..."Oh!  Happy Days" and "Monica Lands" both feature Monica the mouse...

this is "Oh!  Happy Days" coloured with my Prismas and mounted on a scalloped circle cut out with a Marvy punch...
so that means this one is "Monica Lands"...
the two sides without an image are the same...
decorated with Memory Box Lavish Branch, pearls, pale yellow chiffon ribbon and a little flower holder that I put some yellow stamen in...
the top decorated with flowers, yellow tulle/pearl clusters and die cut leaves all mounted on a scalloped circle punched from the Marvy punch...
 this is the box opened...
as you can see you only adhere one side of the circle so that you may open the box...
three shelves are inside...
I will store some of my smaller embellies in this...
so double duty...fun to create and decorative storage as well!!

So that is my homemade "Ray of Sunshine"...hope you like it!!!  AND NO FRANTAGE!!

Materials Used:

Fresh Brewed Design's month long "Choose Your Challenge-Sketch/Photo Inspiration"...

It's a GLORIOUS late Spring morning (I'm dreaming here)...flowers are beginning to bloom...birds line the hydro wires...on the back deck is a fragrantly steaming latte...

So obviously I am using the photo for inspiration...LOL!!!  This photo for me just screamed "Spring morning on the deck"!!!

please click on the first image for a full screen closer view...

I have used Heather's super SWEET "Latte Party"....
you can find this at the shop at Fresh Brewed Designs in the Coffee section...just like the grocery store LOL!!!...
I used a trellis die cut...flowers creeping along them...
I had to fudge a bit on the colour cause try as I did... this paper just wouldn't go back on the shelf...I just kept thinking..."Spring...birds...latte...party!!"....
I made the balloons that are in the left hand side by hand...
sentiments are all computer generated...
and of course I had to dust everything with Frantage...

a closer view of the digi image ...
here you can see the birdies' curiosity at just what that lovely smelling brew is on the deck...
and the inside is simply an invite to join me for a "Latte Party!!"...
