Well happy Thursday everyone!!!

Those are the words I used one year ago today...well expect it was a Wednesday...lol!!!

Yes today is my FIRST blog-a-versary !!!!

And I have CANDY!!!

I will draw a random winner from comments made from my followers...you must be a follower to qualify!  Just a little way to say thanks to all of you who have been loyal during my inaugural year...and any new followers that would like to join me!! The draw will take place two weeks from today on August 7th!!!

Today I will show you part of a larger project that I am working on and then I would like to share with you what this year has brought to my life!!

Here is piece one of my bigger project...

So that is piece one...now I just want to share some thoughts on my first year as a blogger!!

I started my blog for the purpose of visiting with the MANY talented crafters out there and sharing thoughts and ideas with them!!  I had no idea just how broad the crafting blog world was!!

During this year I have had the pleasure of making SO many blogging friends and even got  the chance to meet one SUPER talented lady...Sue Drees...in person!!!  I love visiting Sue's blog "Sue's Rubber Stamping Adventures"...visiting in person was AWESOME!!!

There are so many wonderful crafters out there that have influenced me through their blogs...I even started a "Guru" series that I'm ashamed to say I have let slide but intend to get back to soon!!

The opportunity to broaden my horizons with all the wonderful challenge blogs has been so much fun!!  Through these blogs I have discovered a wealth of talented people that I never would have hadn't I visited the challenge blogs!!

I want to thank Sheryl Cauble for giving me the opportunity to join the Fussy and Fancy DT!!  Sheryl your faith in me has helped me gain some much needed self confidence!!  Through Sheryl I was introduced to Heather Dennis...the ARTIST behind Fresh Brewed Designs!!  Thank you Heather for allowing me to become part of the Fresh Brewed Designs DT!  So a HUGE and HEARTFELT thanks to two TERRIFIC ladies!!

And one totally "uncrafty" benefit to come out of this venture is all the computer "playing" that I have had to do to link, display, schedule...etc.  Being forced to do things on my computer that I would never had thought of has helped me to understand just a little bit of the "tech" world...I still have so much to learn though...LOL!!!

So that winds up my LONG WINDED speech...thanks for hanging in!!!

I LOVE my Maggies!!!...

Hello fellow Maggie fans...I couldn't think of a better post title than this!!!

On a recent three day shopping trip to Buffalo, New York...yes that was my vacation so far for this year...LOL...I had some retail therapy that included craft stores of course!!  I found this rather large paper mache letter "B "and thought hmmmm...."How perfect for my craft room...just think of how many Maggies I can put on THAT"!!!!

So I pulled out one of my favourite papers...Maja's "Strolling Down the Rose Path" from the Sofiero collection, my Shabby Pink Frantage and got down to business...actually it's taken me almost two weeks to complete...LOL!!!  I stamped out all of my Maggies from the "Animals of the Year" 2014 collection and whittled them down to six images!!

Well I must inform you that this is SOOOO picture HEAVY...this letter is SO BIG...it was really hard to photograph!!!!!!

Here is my letter "B"...

please click on the first image for a closer view and slideshow...

all of the outside edges were painted pink, sponged with white and Frantaged with Shabby Pink...

I covered the letter with the Maja paper...

along the straight edge of the "B" is a Martha Stewart punched lace border and rose lace...
so starting at the left hand top corner...I created a bow with lace and shabby seam binding, added a stick pin, bead (which is hidden) and butterfly charm...
this is "Tilda with Leo the Lion"...
I hand stitched some lace onto the bottom corner of the matt...
matts are all distressed, inked with Ranger Tattered Rose and Frantaged...
also added is the butterfly border by Joy Craft...
this is "Tilda with Elsie the Lamb"...
butterfly border, lace stitched on and flowers with seam binding bow on bottom...
 a closer view...
the middle of the "B" loops...
butterfly charm and seam binding lace tails...
closer view of "Tilda with Dexter the Dragon...
I hand stitched the lace...
 bottom right corner...
this is "Tilda with Millie the Mouse"...
again the lace is hand stitched on...
 bottom left corner...
butterfly border, hand stitched lace and shabby seam binding...
this is "Tilda with Daisy Mae the Tiger"...
middle left side...
this is "Tilda with Maggie the Monkey"...
lace hand stitched once again...
I made my butterflies from the Spellbinders Grand Shape-abilities "Wonderful Wings"...
I added pearls to the body and beads to the white wire tail...
this one I hand stitched the center of the body, added pearls and a tail with beads...
 another...
here you can see some of the pearl clusters that I added throughout...
this one I hand stitched again and added a bow tail...

Well that is my letter "B" filled with my beloved Maggies!!!  I had SO much FUN creating this...I hope that you like it!!!
